Her Infernal Majesty

Her Infernal Majesty.

It was the height of the COVID storm, a time when uncertainty clung to the air like a suffocating fog, and the ceaseless barrage of information offered little solace. Society seemed to unravel at the seams, and in the midst of this chaos, we were all forced to confront the darker corners of our souls. For me, there was no escape—no choice but to stare into the abyss of my own existence and plunge headlong into the shadows within.

In that darkness, I found an unlikely companion: the chance to give form to the monster inside me through the lens of my camera. Each photograph became a mirror, reflecting not just the chaos that threatened to consume me, but also a quiet, almost fragile humility. The light of self-salvation was faint, a mere flicker in the storm, yet it was enough to guide me back from the edge of despair.

I turned my back on the noise of the world and immersed myself in my art, clinging to the belief that creation could heal what words could not. In those moments, I saved myself by surrendering to the act of making, trusting in the power of art to mend what was broken.

As artists, we are sometimes granted a rare gift—a moment of clarity amidst the turmoil. Through my camera, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, uncovering truths that set me free. These photographs are more than images; they are fragments of a soul laid bare, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of life’s greatest trials. It is essential that they find a home in the Badseed Zine legacy, a tribute to the transformative power of art when the world feels like it is crumbling.

An eternity of reverence to her infernal majesty. The rose from concrete.

The work must go on.
